Thank you for your support of Literacy and Learning Day 2010!

IMPORTANT NEWS!

LITERACY AND LEARNING DAY 2010 was a great success

We had over 800 people attend this free conference on April 17, 2010.  Once again, NAIT was an excellent venue choice, as participants had access to free parking, excellent catering, and comfortable classrooms while benifitting from the superb teachings of quality educators!

A summary of other details of our day, as well as information about our keynote speaker, Dr. Karyn Gordon, will be found in the "Past Years" section of this website in the near future.

We are in the process of planning our 2011 FREE conference, scheduled for Saturday, April 16 and featuring keynote speaker, Robert Ocker!  If you are interested in helping us on one of our volunteer crews, please let us know.  You can register online as a volunteer, phone us (780-476-0078) or send us an email: volunteer@literacyday.ca

RAISING HEALTHY FAMILIES IN AN AGE OF OVERINDULGENCE

7 Strategies to Raise Healthy Families in An Age of Over-Indulgence!
An Informative Workshop for Parents of Children of all ages.

Dr. Karyn empowers parents to bring wellness into their life by tackling the tough topic of over-indulgence. Many youth are living in a ‘buy now, pay later’ culture which is impacting their decision making, spending habits, priorities and eating habits.

Raising Healthy Families in An Age of Overindulgence is a revealing, shocking and educational workshop introducing you to practical ways to achieve balance and wellness.

Specifically in this 75 minute workshop,
Dr. Karyn will teach you:

  • A comprehensive understanding of over-indulgence.
  • Common obstacles preventing families from achieving balance in their life.
  • The costs if families do not strive for balance in their life.
  • How over-indulgence impacts children’s self-esteem and decision making.
  • How over-indulgence impacts spending habits, eating habits and scheduling habits.
  • 7 Strategies to raising healthy, balanced children.
You will feel inspired and empowered throughout this workshop. Bring your questions - there will be time for Q & A.
