The Literacy and Learning Day Society of Edmonton is pleased with the success of the 2009 Free Conference for Parents, Educators and Adults who work with children which took place on April 25, 2009 at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Over 600 parents, educators and caregivers braved the elements to attend this remarkable event! 

We were thrilled to feature Keynote Speaker Allen Balser, Executive Director of Alta Care Resources  His Keynote address, "The Resilient Parent... Uncovered, Understood, Unleashed", explored resiliency and how it relates to parenting. Copies of Allen's keynote address and notes associated with his workshop, Hovering, Smothering, Discovering..., will be available for download from this website in the near future.

In addition, approximately 50 workshop choices of varied topics assisted those in attendance with supporting the children in their lives.
