By giving to this annual event you will be supporting the Literacy and Learning Day Society of Edmonton and helping to ensure that Literacy & Learning Day Conferences are FREE for all who attend. We understand that those who need our support the most may not be able to afford to attend an event of this calibre and we do not a registration fee to be a barrier to attendance.
Our Annual Budget is approximately $100,000.00 ($100 per registrant).
Our Society has a license with Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) which allows us to work a Casino every 18 - 24 months. Each of these Casino Events generates approximately $75,000.00 for our organization, which we split to cover 2 years worth of conferences ($37,500.00 each year).
In addition to our Casino Events and other Fundraisers, we need to raise $60,000 each year, to cover the expenses of this event including a modest lunch for all participants.
In order to meet this goal, we are asking for sponsorship from businesses, organizations and individuals with similar charitable priorities.
Individual Monetary Donations over $25 will be issued a Charitable Receipt for Tax Purposes.
Corporate Monetary Donations will be recognized in accordance with our Fundraising Policy. This includes businesses who offer a discount on their services. No tax deductible receipts can be provided. This sponsorship expense can be written off as a marketing expense by companies.
In-Kind Donations are greatly appreciated and are a good alternative for those who wish to support the work we do with hard goods and materials, or discounted services, in lieu of a cash donation. These donations will be recognized in accordance with our Fundraising Policy. No tax deductible receipts can be provided. This sponsorship expense can be written off as a marketing expense by companies. Invoice provided on request.

- Pens for delegate bags (approx 1,000)
- Brochure Distribution
- Office Supplies (paper etc)
- Member Gifts (approx 125)
- Presenter Gifts (approx 50)
- Volunteer Gifts (approx 100)
- Discounts on Services (AV / Printing etc)
